From [ Ссылка ] A preview of my Bujinkan video exploring the 槍術 sō jutsu kata 飛鳥抛 hicho nage sometimes also called hicho kaku. As the name suggests, the movement in this kata is that of a fighting bird. If you’ve ever spent time observing birds (I am a birdwatcher myself with an eclectic life list that is decades old), then you know how they use their beaks and talons. But also how they leap and flutter to gain advantage in a fight.
The whole kata moves this way. The opponent should feel overwhelmed by strikes coming from the ground, the sky, and all angles. Even if he considers a counter, our movement surrounds it and pierces through.
One of the strikes Hatsumi Sensei calls 横しばき yokoshibaki. This is smashing the opponent upside the head. This is a method to break through the armor. But it also crushes the opponent’s defense with his sword. Then the point of our spear discovers a target.
I finished by making this discovery of the target a soft and hidden method. You can use your spear tip like 探り合い saguri ai.
