I presented on behalf of AfriForum to President Ramamphosa's Interministerial Committee on Land Reform about farm attacks and farm murders in South Africa.
The meeting happened on 26 January 2021 and had a particular focus on rural safety and my presentation.
In my presentation I explained why we regard these attacks as unique and why they should be responded to as a priority crime; I mentioned some contributing factors to farm murders, particularly negative stereotyping and hate speech; and I also gave ten practical steps that should by taken by the South African government to address farm murders.
