Sky News host Rowan Dean says children are continually being taught that "disaster awaits" if the planet warms by even a few degrees when history tells us that the "real danger" to life on Earth is the cold.
"Sydney shivered through its coldest morning of winter last week with temperatures down to around 5.5C while Canberra saw its coldest day for 12 years with the maximum temperature getting to just 6.3C on Tuesday," Mr Dean said.
"Ice Age Watch fans know that Siberia suffered one of its coldest starts to the year on record.
"The cold spell also resulted in thousands of reindeer starving to death on Russia's Yamal Peninsula due to the animals' forage being locked under unusually thick ice.
"Why do I mention this? Because our children are continually being taught that disaster awaits if the planet warms by even a few degrees when of course history tells us that the real danger to life on earth is the cold.
"Which is precisely what is happening in Kenya, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department, who have observed that the cold of winter started earlier, nearly three months early, this year.
"The chill has been ravaging growing regions across East Africa with temperatures in places plummeting close to freezing, which is astonishing.
"And here's the really sick twist. The authorities in Kenya claim the unusually cold weather is because of climate change. Global warming is now making parts of Africa freezing, apparently."
