The cape codder, or cape cod cocktail, is a great little vodka drink that utilizes what is known as Cranberry Juice Cocktail, usually from Ocean Spray. A traditional Cape Codder brings the two together seamlessly with a great balance. The reason being, a cap cod cocktail needs to use the fruit combined with the sugar of a cranberry juice cocktail to balance out the flavor.
Using fresh pressed cranberries creates a massively tart cocktail design and you'll need sugar in your cape cod cocktail. Now, a beautiful cape cod recipe should be simple and easy to build and, since you can use off the shelf juice, it's not trouble to build the recipe.
Cape Codder
- 1 ½ oz. / 50ml Vodka
- 4 ½ oz. / 150ml Cranberry Juice
- Lime Wedge Garnish
The craft cocktail is a series where we work on some easy cocktail recipes, we started with vodka and eventually move into gin. However, the cape codder is the second cocktail in our series that builds off another juice based drink: the screwdriver.
