In Episode 5 of Kirby Allison's "From Suit to Shoot" YouTube series, we return to Savile Row tailors Henry Poole & Co, to watch as the final suit is constructed.
This part of the process is where the real tailoring work begins. All the various components of the garment - which had, for the first fitting, only been loosely sewn or 'basted' together - are taken apart again, and adjusted according to any refinements that the tailor might now wish to make to the customer's original pattern. The suit is then sewn together. Throughout the entire process of creating the garment, the makers will continually review the silhouette of the suit – its shape and its drape – as everything slowly comes together prior to the final fitting.
