The Hellenistic Wars were a series of wars fought between the successor states of Alexander the Great's empire in the 4th and 2nd centuries BC. The conflicts began after Alexander's death in 323 BC and ended with the Roman conquest of the Greek world in 146 BC. The wars were fought by the Diadochi, the successors of Alexander the Great's generals, over the control of Alexander's vast empire, which stretched from Greece to India.
