On September 4, 1978 the very first Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show was televised on ABC. The 1-hour special was announced shortly after the Cowboys Super Bowl XII win in January 1978. By this time though, the DCC were moving rapidly in popularity. They already had a poster out and had been on the cover of Esquire Magazine, and much more was coming. This was a fantastic group of DCC's, each and every one of them. They were part of the DCC that were starting to experience the popularity that kept growing. The show host was Hal Linden and had other guest featuring Charles Nelson Reilly, Billy Crystal and Joey Travolta in skits. This show only featured the DCC performing at Texas Stadium at the end of the show, which is what you see posted here. The show was televised on the west coast after the Cowboys-Colts Monday Night Football game. I believe the DCC performance at the end was a live performance before the game.
