Harder than it looks ☝🏽
Any time when trying times balance exercises, I always like using the corner of a wall so you have appropriate support if you do lose your balance ⚠️
Improving your balance can also be incredibly helpful@to further support your joints, especially if you are dealing with arthritis pain ☝🏽
By turning your head, you cannot rely on your vision as much to let your body know where it is in space as your vision is constantly changing 👀
Instead, you have to focus on the sensation from from your and awareness of where you are to keep yourself upright 🙌🏼
If this is difficult for you, continued practice can be helpful. You can also make a few different modifications including:
- reduce the amount you are turning your head
- place both feet on the floor
- lightly touch a stable surface for stability
Balance can be tough. This one may especially be tough if you have neuropathy as your sensations may not be sending full information to the rest of your body
A good goal for most people would be to set a timer for 30-60 seconds and see how long you can keep your stability.
PLEASE use appropriate support to prevent any falls, even if you feel confident in your balance ⚠️
