"Gott erhalte, Gott beschütze" or the "Österreichische Kaiserhymne" was the National Anthem of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The hymn was originally "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" and written as a personal anthem to Emperor Francis II of the Holy Roman Empire, and later of the Austrian Empire.
