Also known as Pinfold Level Crossing.
Located on a now pedestrian only section of Pinfold Street and one of two crossings in the town of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. This crossing is very unique as not only is it accessible by pedestrians only, but there are two Mk1 British Rail Western Region (BRWR) barriers which are very rare to find. Uttoxeter signal box is situated beside the crossing which also controls and monitors the other crossing in Uttoxeter, on Hockley Road, as-well as all the semaphore signalling in the area on this line. Back in the 1980s, this was a road crossing with four warning lights, four barriers and two alarms. In the mid-to-late 1990s, the crossing got blocked off either side for road vehicles. It retained four barriers and four warning lights until 2017 when two of the barriers were removed, and then in 2018, two warning lights were removed to create the current crossing I filmed in May 2021. This crossing is all controlled from the signal box. The signaller leaves about a 30 second gap from starting the sequence to lowering the barriers as the crossing has a conventional control method where the barriers do not lower automatically when the sequence starts.
