Sky News contributor Kosha Gada has discussed the US Supreme Court's “landmark” decision to grant immunity to US presidents from criminal charges while in office and what it means for Donald Trump.
The US Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday (AEST) has diluted the four charges laid against former president Donald Trump regarding his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
“It’s a huge ruling a landmark ruling not only for Trump and this case but really the presidency,” Ms Gada said.
“Politically what it means is that it's going to push it well past the election day ... back to the lower district court and they're going to have to basically adjudicate what the factual inquiry, what’s an official act what’s not an official act.
“That’s going to take forever all those details are going to be adjudicated and if Trump wins all of this goes away anyway.”
