In this video I restore an old Yost model 104 smooth jaw vise. I began by tearing it down and cleaning most of the crud with varsol, then stripped all of the old paint off. A few drill holes were repaired with weld and ground back smooth. Some wire wheeling and further cleaning was needed before applying a new coat of light grey paint. I also fabricated a new handle with my lathe, using the original handle ball-ends, which were re-welded and ground back smooth. Everything was re-assembled after paint and lightly greased.
