Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education Geoff Lee says Tafe NSW is offering free courses to provide an opportunity for people to “upskill while in isolation”.
On Monday when the courses were released, the site received approximately 40,000 views and by the end of Wednesday more than 10,000 people had enrolled online.
“We are very proud in NSW to offer 21 fee-free courses for people that are doing it tough at the moment and may have a bit of time at home and may want to upskill or may want to improve their skills so they can get a new job,” Mr Lee told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“All of these courses are online courses” and target business skills such as e-marketing, word-processing and technology development.
Mr Lee said his intention was to “roll out a program consisting of three or four short units which will give you a short course and a statement of attainment which can be used as building blocks for accreditation”.
