Unfortunately, I misspelled sugar during the intro to the video- please ignore!
This video covers the basics of throwing a small pot (like a sugar bowl) with a gallery, and a lid thrown as a bowl- with the lip fitting into the gallery. Unlike the teapot lids I showed in my teapot video, this lid has no flange, and just rests atop and in the gallery of the pot. Once the pieces are thrown, I show how to trim them when leatherhard. The knob of the lid is actually trimmed from the thick piece of clay on the base of the thrown lid. Nothing is attached.
If you would like to see other ways of throwing a lid, check out my teapot video here: [ Ссылка ]

I am a high school ceramics teacher and potter. I have been working in clay for over 30 years, and I have been teaching for over 28 years, the past 20 have been specifically teaching high school ceramics. I love what I do! I have my own studio in my home basement, where I work on my personal pottery for my Etsy site; [ Ссылка ]
I started my Youtube channel a few years ago, to make videos to help my students if they are absent and miss a demo, or if they would like to explore more advanced techniques independently. I have been amazed to reach such a wider audience than my own students!
