The Goodwood Festival of Speed is now a permanent fixture on the motorsports calendar. Held in the glorious British countryside, it's an event to see, and to be seen at. But of course, it's mainly about flat-out speed, action and excitement. Join Ed Leigh and Mike Chen as we take in the highlights from the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
This year's event got underway on Friday with some WRC action - Mads Østberg showed the fans how it's done in the Citroen C3 WRC. F1 was also on show with the non-hybrid 2012 RB8 driven by Patrick Freisacher. Also in attendance, the 2008 Torro Rosso that gave Sebastien Vettel his first F1 victory.
Also on the hill were the Drift Masters cars, but the star of the drift show was unquestionably Mad Mike Whiddetts Lamborghini that wowed the fans in the drift arena alongside Ahmad Daham's brand new Lexus.
All eyes were temporarily on the sky for the fantastic Red Arrows skyshow, but of course the thing that everyone was waiting to see was the hill climb and the record attempt, that was unofficially broken by Roman Dumas in the electric VW ID R, beating Nick Heidfeld's record by half a second with a time of 39.990.
