Assistant Trade Minister Tim Ayres says the government’s Future Made in Australia “is an important piece of legislation”.

“We’ll work across parliament like we always do,” Mr Ayres told Sky News Australia.

The Assistant Trade Minister said it is a “bit of contrast” to the beginning of the week, where the government was focused on “cost of living relief”.

“Right now, introducing this bill is about the long-term economic security of Australia,” he said.
