Tampa Bay Inferno vs Miami Fury 2019
WFA Women's Football
In WFA D2 Southeast Region action, two longtime league rivals face off yet again in a TRULY must-win game for both teams, as the Miami Fury Women's Tackle Football Team (2-2, 1-1 D2) battle the Tampa Bay Inferno Women's Tackle Football (2-3, 2-0 D2), each team looking to salvage their playoff hopes.
All-time series: Inferno lead 9-6
Points: Inferno 275, Fury 270
Meeting of the year: Second
Last meeting: The Inferno beat the Fury 61-20 on April 27 in Miami.
Thoughts on the Fury: Despite having the second-smallest roster of any of the D2 teams, the Fury have a FIRE to 'em to make up for the difference, as they demonstrated in the fight they gave the defending D3 National Champions Orlando Anarchy even in a 36-26 loss amongst the torrential Central Florida rain. With momentum on their side and ready to prove their greatness, the Fury look to bring their team of Dark Horses stampeding all the way to Colorado...first, they head to Tampa looking to snap their six-game losing streak against the Inferno.
Thoughts on the Inferno: Once again, do NOT let the Inferno's record fool you...their losses were in competitive contests against three of the BEST teams in all women's football (Boston Renegades, Orlando Anarchy & DC Divas). With Candi Rolo Thompson gettin' things crackin' on the run and the D alike, Dominique Jacobs and Candy Brady Pistole serving as Kim Y. Shaw's two favorite targets and Candi, Melissa Acevedo and Rosalee Hammonds holding down a containing defense, the Inferno STILL look like a team that can make it all the way to Colorado this year, and are ready to win their last three games to make it happen...first off, they seek to sweep the Fury once again.
The question is: Which team will pick up the W and salvage their hopes to bring the D2 trophy back home to Florida?
TAMPA WINS
