Nigerian Chin Chin is a crunchy deep fried snack that is enjoyed by people from all over the world.
The following are the ingredients for a very CRUNCHY Nigerian Chin Chin as used in the video.
•1kg of Plain Flour
•75ml of evaporated milk / 75g of powdered milk
•200g of granulated sugar
•125g of margarine
•2 teaspoonfuls of ground nutmeg
•Vegetable Oil (for frying)
•Salt (optional and usually half a teaspoon)
***** If you want to make a SOFTER Nigerian Chin Chin, use the quantities of ingredients on the website.
Notes:
-Grinding the granulated sugar only helps it dissolve quicker in the milk, so you can skip that step.
-I always recommend margarine for Nigerian Snacks because it is much easier to mix with the flour.
-Once you add the Chin Chin to the hot vegetable oil, stir continuously, shaking the spoon so that Chin Chin cuts will separate from each other.
- The nutmeg is a MUST if you want your Chin Chin to have the classic taste of Nigerian Chin Chin.
- After mixing the wet ingredients and dry ingredients, add water till you get a smooth, stiff ball of dough.
