Outgoing NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian was “well aware of the dangers of ICAC”, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“Frankly, ministerial staff and ministers up there are often paranoid about it,” Mr Clennell said.
“They don’t want to be seen to be doing the wrong thing because they know the ICAC spectre looms.
ICAC took out Ms Berejiklian’s mentor Barry O’Farrell in 2014 over a bottle of wine sent by the CEO of a water infrastructure company.
