Thrombocytopenia or Thrombopenia is the relative decrease of blood platelets. If the platelet count gets below 50,000 per microlitre, then the patient is said to have this medical condition. The general symptoms are fatigue, malaise and general weakness. Bruising with even minor trauma and spontaneous bruising in limbs may also occur.
