The Armenian Weightlifting team has claimed its second gold medal in the European Championships. Davit Hovhannisyan, a 98kg weightlifter, won two gold medals in different exercises, and was also declared the European champion with a total result of 377 kg in the doubles. The tournament was held at the sports and concert complex named after Karen Demirchyan, and The Armenian Report's sports correspondent followed the competition.
After being declared the champion, Hovhannisyan shared his impressions and dedicated his victory to the Armenian soldiers. He said, "I dedicate these gold medals and my victory to the Armenian soldiers. Let them be strong and know that we are all by their side."
The Armenian team had a successful evening, with Ara Aghanyan winning a silver medal with a result of 364kg in the doubles. Aghanyan expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him during the competition and said that he had not received such great support during any European Championship before.
It's worth noting that the Armenian national team has won a total of 7 medals and is currently in second place in the team count, with the Romanian team leading.
