This is a self-contained bench top unit which allows students to study the free and forced vibrations of a rigid beam with a spring and a simply supported beam. Forcing the vibration allows more advanced studies to be completed, such as using a vibration absorber, the dynamic effects of damping and to demonstrate the typical behavior of a 2 degree of freedom system. As is the case with a section of the TM160 series, the TM1016 experiments work with the new VDAS® (mkII) hardware and software for data acquisition of the oscillatory motion. The latest version of the TM1016, the TM1016V also features integrated VDAS hardware.
