In this interview Paul Slater, director at Fox sports Australia, talks about their new NRL season and how they used the Stype kit in combination with Vizrt to achieve some amazing augmented reality visuals for their real time studio shows.
The Stype kit was used for tracking the position of the camera in 3D space and sending this data to Vizrt's render engine - Viz virtual studio.
Using this positional data, any computer generated object or animation can be seamlessly added into a real life set – thus creating an augmented reality set. This principle can also be used with a green or blue screen for virtual studio sets. You can use the Stype kit for inside or outside broadcast and achieve immersive broadcast graphics more easily than ever.
