1. The 45th GST Council meeting scheduled for Friday, 17th September 2021, is expected to make major announcements. One of them is a possible rate cut on steel scrap from 18% to 5%. 2. The taxpayer has to apply for revocation of cancellation of registration within 30 days from the date of receiving the cancellation order. However, the CBIC has inserted a new provision to extend the time for applying for revocation of cancellation of registration. 3. The state government may oppose the inclusion of petroleum products in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime when raised in the 45th GST Council meeting scheduled on September 17, 2021.
