Two-year-old Eunike and her parents live in Jakarta, Indonesia. At the age of four months, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but the specific type of tumor remained unclear. Worldwide, about 40 % of all children and adolescents with cancer die from their disease. Accurate cancer diagnostics and access to appropriate therapies could significantly improve the success of treatment.
With the recently launched "MNP Outreach" program, Hopp Children's Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ), the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) aim to provide low-income countries worldwide with free access to modern precision diagnostics.
