As polls in Western Australia close, the state has seen popular Premier Mark McGowan and new Liberal Party leader Zak Kirkup go head to head.
As it stands Labor holds 40 seats in the legislative assembly, more than double the 19 seats held by the Liberal and National parties combined.
For the Opposition to gain power they would need to pick up 11 seats off Labor and solidify the agreement with the Nationals but it requires a state wide swing of about 8 per cent against Labor.
