One of my favorite movements ☝🏽
Many people with osteoarthritis also have osteoporosis/osteopenia. The main difference between the two is that osteoarthritis impacts the larger joints and osteoporosis/osteopenia impacts bone strength 👀
Strengthening can be incredibly powerful for osteoarthritis to build muscle to support the joints. Strengthening can also be a vital way to improve bone strength! 🦴💪🏽
This stop squat can help to build strength. The added impact can also help with bone strength! Bones tend respond well, strength-wise, to higher impact.
⚠️⚠️ BUT you need to make sure your joints are ready for this exercise. Made sure to master a regular chair stand first ⚠️⚠️
A good place to start for most is around 5-10 repetitions but this will depend on how it feels ☝🏽
