Welcome back to my Ordinary Kitchen!
Today I will be sharing Korean Seaweed Soup 미역국 (Miyeok Guk) recipe. A traditional soup that is often consumed during birthdays as a breakfast. I grew up eating this every year or on special occasions. One of my favorite soups and perfect in the morning.
Please excuse all the cat hair that is in my kitchen area. It is impossible to clean sometimes :)
Ingredients:
1/3 cup dried seaweed: [ Ссылка ]
100g beef (any tough beef for stew)
1 garlic minced
3 tbs soup soy sauce: [ Ссылка ]
1 tbs fish sauce: [ Ссылка ]
1 tbs sesame oil: [ Ссылка ]
2.5 cups of water
Recipe:
1. Soak dried seaweed in water until fully rehydrated.
2. Chop beef into small bite sizes and mince a garlic
3. In a pot, add in sesame oil and beef, cook until each side of beef is done.
4. Add in seaweed and stir together, then add in soup soy sauce and stir.
5. Cover with water and boil, after add in garlic and fish sauce.
6. Cook until beef is tender
Tips:
Cut up dried seaweed if the pieces are too big. Roasted dried seaweed does not work for this soup.
Any tough beef is fine with this soup. The longer you cook it, the better it will taste.
Do not eat this seaweed as a snack! It expands in size by 10x. You will end up in the hospital :(
