Metformin and myo-inositol serve a similar function. There is no purpose in taking both if you are not going to be weaning off of one. For instance, for those of you on metformin who wish to switch over may incorporate myo-inositol as you reduce and eventually eliminate metformin.

Please seek medical feedback and advise (especially if you are diabetic, from your naturopath or health practitioner).

Keep in mind that metformin is a pharmaceutical drug which has properties to balance your insulin, especially when your diet is unhealthy and not clean. If you are going to use myo-inositol, be mindful that you need to eat clean (low sugar intake) as possible. These are some things to consider when you are choosing your options.

Again, be informed of your health and information so you can select the best course of action at this time. Remember, it is a journey which can be altered. Perhaps metformin is the best route for you today, but in few months or year, you may be ready to switch to myo-inositol or vice versa.
