Stephane Espi is a knifemaker from the South of France who has been making custom knives since 2009. He specializes in modern style framelock folders with excellent fit and finish and impeccable action. It is rare to see his work in the United States and we are excited to be able to offer it at BladeGallery. Espi's knives are hand made in France without the use of CNC.
This Scylla Front Flipper is a prime example of Stephane's clean work. The minimalistic design coupled with some of the best action you will ever feel makes for a great daily carry knife – though Espi’s work would also be a highlight of most any collection.
The blade is hand ground stainless damascus forged by Damasteel in Söderfors, Sweden. This high performing damascus is created using powder metallurgical steel manufacturing to provide excellent edge retention and unmatched beauty.
The blade is perfectly centered and opens on a ball bearing pivot. This knife has silky-smooth, drop-shut action. The blade locks up firmly on every deploy.
The titanium frame is nicely contoured for a comfortable grip. A vapor blast finish creates an elegant appearance. A polished copper pivot collar brings warm tones to the handle. The 3D machined titanium pocket clip is mounted or tip-up, right-side carry.
A handmade felted wool and leather pocket pouch is included to protect the knife while carried.
