Here's how to measure the volume of the combustion chamber including the volume of the spark plug hole. This is the volume we mention on the insert boxes.
To do this measurement, we use lampoil from Farmlight, and the following VHM tools:
- VHM tap for pipette [ Ссылка ] and
- VHM pipette 20ml for engine capacity 50-200cc [ Ссылка ] or
- VHM pipette 25ml for engine capacity 50-250cc [ Ссылка ]

00.00 How to measure the volume of a combustion chamber (including spark plug hole volume)
00.06 Move piston to it’s top dead centre (TDC), it’s highest point
00.12 Make sure the piston and combustion chamber are clean
00.19 Grease the edge of the piston to prevent leakage of the liquid while measuring
00.29 Mount the cylinder head and insert and make sure to tighten the bolts
00.53 Fill the pipet with liquid to 0 ml level
01.19 Fill the combustion chamber with liquid till the top of the spark plug hole
01.33 Make sure that the liquid is not leaking over the top of the park plug hole, but also not below it. When the liquid is a little bit curved over the top it’s just right!
01.48 Now you can read the volume on the pipet graduation. Measured volume in this example is 11.60ml = 11.60cc.

Here laten we zien hoe je het volume van de verbrandingskamer kunt meten (inclusief het volume van de bougie). Dit volume vermelden we altijd op onze binnenkop doosjes.
Draai de zuiger naar het hoogste punt (BDP, bovenste dode punt).
Zorg ervoor dat de zuiger en de verbrandingskamer schoon zijn.
Vet de rand van de zuiger in om lekkage van de vloeistof te voorkomen tijdens het meten.
Monteer de cilinderkop en binnenkop en zet de kop kruislings vast.
Vul de pipet met vloeistof tot het 0ml niveau.
Vul met de pipet de verbrandingskamer tot de vloeistof gelijk is met de bovenkant van het bougiegat.
Zorg ervoor dat de vloeistof er niet overeen stroomt, maar ook niet onder het gat blijft.
Wanneer de vloeistof een beetje over de bovenkant gebogen is, dan is het precies goed.
Nu kun je het volume aflezen van de pipet.
In de voorbeeld meting (in de video) wordt er een volume van 11.60cc gemeten.
