Monkeypox is a viral infection that is endemic in central and western Africa. The first human cases were reported in the 1970s. The first outbreak in western hemisphere was in 2003 in United States. In May 2022, monkeypox cases have begun to appear in countries like the US, Canada, UK, and many other European countries.
