Cristobal turned post-tropical earlier as it entered Canada, and continues to the northeast. The storm will pass Hudson Bay before transferring energy into another, stronger extratropical storm near Greenland.
In the Western Pacific, Invest 98W continues to show signs of development near the Philippine islands, and is likely to become a tropical cyclone as it heads towards the northwest. Whilst it hasn't taken shape as quickly as expected, it is producing heavy rainfall over the islands, and could still develop into a typhoon and threaten China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Invest 94B formed earlier today over the Bay of Bengal, and is unlikely to develop as it is incredibly broad. However, rainfall in India could trigger more flooding.
An area of interest was tagged by the National Hurricane Center in the main development region of the Atlantic, but has a low chance of forming.
An extratropical cyclone currently located over the United Kingdom could develop into a subtropical storm briefly in the Bay of Biscay near the end of the week, before swinging round back into the western coast of France.
