Even though Turkey couldn't make the Final for a third straight tournament, Demirel’s great efforts resulted in recording four double-doubles over seven games he played and finishing the tournament as the leading rebounder and ranking in the top three in blocks per game. The 18-year-old center stood out with his 2.14m height, which allowed him to dominate the glass and make an impact as a rim protector and interior finisher, but also with his influence within the hoop's perimeter on both sides of the court, he has shown more cleverness than anticipated for a player at his measurements by putting the ball on the floor and creating his own shots.

Last season, the seven-footer made his Anadolu Efes debut and given the size of his frame and the influence he had at Nis, it's fair to assume that in 2023–24, his contribution and time on the court will increase significantly.
