I went to a toy fair and got a lot of buildings already made up. Some given. Some of the cardboard Metcalfe products had 9v pea bulbs fitted as well. So I will use them, as I was going to fit in 3v LEDs into the three Shops I have already made.
Here we have a Public House which is nicely detailed and even has a courtyard. The two front rooms have bulbs in them, but when the bulbs lit up you could clearly see the plain card inside. So I went online, and found suitable images, resized and printed them using Photoshop, and then used Pritt Stick glue to affix them inside. I also added ten figures inside the pub, although most of them you will hardly see. The lights were too low as well, so I have huddled figures around the bulbs as if they are holding a light.
The Bank and Ladies Dressmakers also has lights. Again I detailed these up further, even added carpet and ceiling details although I doubt people will see the ceiling motifs. This low relief building will be for behind the Viaduct.
The Boilerhouse is a nice piece and at the moment will sit behind the viaduct as well. The tall Chimney will stand proud behind it all.
The Manor Farm House (I think it is called) is a series of buildings dated 1679. So these are ok for 1890 and I will add them into my area of London for a bit of variation but they may sit around the back as ‘fillers’.
All in all Terror Street took a huge step forward this weekend. These are to be added to the buildings I am making: Three Shops, Viaduct and Brewery for my 1890s Victorian layout.
