Chris wanted a low profile deck in his garden but the problem was he didn't want to have to dig holes through his concreted yard.

The solution? TuffBlock. By using the floating foundation method of building a deck on top of the compacted ground (in this case half concrete, half soil), it allows the deck to move and adjust slightly without causing stress or damage to the deck. TuffBlocks with their wide base provide a lot of stability and support.

Each block is break tested to 5000 kgs so they're extremely strong. And each is designed with 2 slots for joists and bearers, as well as 2 slots for posts, so the decking frame sits very snugly inside.

The end result means Chris could build a deck in a weekend that was extremely strong, sturdy and cost effective. By reducing the need for additional tools, concrete bags, a concrete mixer and the additional time of waiting for everything to set, it meant less time working on the deck and more time for sitting by the pool.

With 12 months having passed, the deck hasn't moved at all and is in great condition. Being UV stabilized means the composite plastic material holds up to the Queensland sun without fuss.
