00:00 Hello my friends.
00:05 Continuing with this modelling project, I keep building the multipart project, series of videos if you will, related to a zombie apocalypse. This third part is related to the construction of the diorama, in scale 1:35, that will be used in the apocalyptic scenario.
02:14 I wanted, as the third project, to start constructing the diorama of the apocalyptic scenario that will be completed in the next few projects, if everything will go as planned.
02:24 This is going to be the basis for my diorama 50 x 50 cm (about 19.68 x 19.68 inches). Actually, they are two cardboard sheets glued together. Putting it to the side though because I will start by building some fences first.
02:38 Will start with the back side fence. Will be using a slim chipboard and this corrugated cardboard. I bought this about 7 EUR (about 8.5 USD) and it is 10 m x 40 cm (about 32.80 ft x 15.74 inches).
02:50 Marking and cutting at 25 cm (about 9.84 inches) two times for the two fences.
03:01 Repeating the same process at 14 cm (about 5.51 inches).
03:15 PVA gluing the barbecue sticks like so.
03:19 ATTENTION! Keep always in mind that after gluing, painting, etc to let things dry.
03:46 Cutting in no particular size. Some short, some wide and so on.
04:04 PVA gluing.
05:44 Letting them dry.
05:46 Already cut barbecue sticks at 22 cm (about 8.66 inches) and placed them at 10 cm apart (about 3.93 inches).
05:52 Super gluing the sticks (including couple for diagonal braces) and the net.
07:12 Cutting the excess net.
07:20 Turning it over and keep gluing.
07:52 Once again, cutting the excess net but will finish off camera.
08:19 Using copper wire of 0.5 mm (about 0.019 inches) bend in half. The end pointers will be placed inside my hand drill. The other end will have a wood acting like a handle.
08:36 Drilling 🤣
08:52 Using copper wire of 0.3 mm (about 0.011 inches) and cutting pieces of about 4 to 5 cm (about 1.57 to 1.96 inches).
08:58 Wrapping the pieces around the previous wire like so.
09:54 Barbwire are ready.
10:05 Wrapping the barbwire on this marker pen. Take care not to harm yourself.
10:31 Gluing the barbwire and adding some cooking soda for faster and better adherence.
10:59 The barbwire fences are ready. Also, on these I added couple diagonal braces because they were not stable enough.
11:18 Prepared two sticks at 20 cm (about 7.87 inches) and two at 16.5 cm (about 6.49 inches). On the 16.5 cm sticks I marked at 14 cm (about 5.51 inches) which will be the door height.
11:31 Gluing adding cooking soda like so.
12:01 The door frame is ready. Onto the double doors.
12:05 Four sticks 9 cm (about 3.54 inches) and four 13.5 cm (about 5.31 inches) for the double doors.
12:12 Repeating the same gluing process.
12:44 Completed the double doors off camera. Using zip ties to make the hinges. Cutting at 1 cm (about 0.39 inches). Will trim the excess later on.
13:08 Gluing.
13:37 Adding diagonal braces.
14:16 Placing the net.
14:41 Double doors are ready except a must have addition: Barbwire.
21:45 Prepared some balsa wood sticks to create stairs for the watch tower. Cutting these sticks at 2 cm (about 0.78 inches) to use as the stairs steps.
22:01 PVA gluing.
22:47 Cut couple foam sticks and hot gluing them to be the stairs base braces to the tower.
23:18 Hot gluing these two food canisters together to create a tank fuel container.
23:31 Marking and cutting this chipboard at 21.8 cm (about 8.58 inches) to wrap it around the canisters.
23:56 Temporarily wrapping around and marking in order to cut the excess chipboard.
24:09 Cutting and then hot gluing.
24:40 Marking and cutting couple foam board pieces for use as back and front covers on the fuel tank.
25:19 Gluing.
25:36 Ready filled the gaps on the fuel tank covers. Also, prepared these foam board pieces. Marking them to be the tank's saddles.
37:15 Hopefully you liked the project and you will enjoy the very simple presentation. The proper one will be on the diorama that eventually I will release.
37:24 Since I am a new to this amazing art, please do share your words of wisdom in the comments below.
