Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks, Alaska, was formally dedicated on September 18, 1948. These scenes are from the base entrance and housing area circa 1970. The monument at the beginning of the clip commemorates Carl Ben Eielson, the American aviator, bush pilot and explorer for whom the base is named (Color/Silent/16mm film).
