STORYLINE:
French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posed for a photograph at Paris' Elysee Palace on Friday.
They were joined by ministers from both nations for the group image, which was taken before the start of the Franco-British summit.
Sunak was meeting Macron in efforts to mend relations following post-Brexit tensions, as well as improving military and business ties and toughening efforts against migrants crossing the English Channel.
The French-British summit, the first since 2018, is set to show a “new chapter” in relations between the two countries, according to Macron's office.
The event was previously held almost every year.
