Since its debut in Europe at the end of 2016, the very spacious Ford KA + has underscored its reputation as a well-equipped, fuel-efficient and joyful compact car with a particularly attractive price / performance ratio. It can accommodate five people and their carry-on luggage - two-meter-tall people can even comfortably sit on the 60:40 divisible back seat, if someone of the same stature sits in front of them. The rear flap can be easily remotely unlocked from the driver's seat or can be easily opened from the outside via a now better accessible button.

Various equipment packages are available for the new KA +, including, for example, the "Cool & Connect" package I and II, the "Easy Driver" package, the "Technology Package" or the "Winter Package".

Depending on the package, features such as the headlight assistant with day / night sensor, the windshield wiper with rain sensor, a heated windscreen, which provides a clear view especially during the early winter start, heated front seats and electronically controlled air conditioning and park-pilot sensors in the back. The engine now starts on request by pressing a button.

Also available on request is the voice-controlled communication and entertainment system Ford SYNC 3 with AppLink. It has a 6.5-inch, tablet-inspired color touchscreen and can integrate smartphones on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-based. A standard component of Ford SYNC 3 is the emergency call assistant, which alerts emergency services in the event of a fall.

The standard features of all Ford KA + will include such pleasant features as front power windows, central locking with remote control, electrically adjustable mirrors, hill start assist, speed limiter and the clever tank system Ford Easy Fuel - it prevents accidentally filling the car with a wrong fuel grade. Six airbags also ensure a high level of protection, such as the electronic safety and stability program and the TPMS tire pressure monitoring system.

Almost 50 percent of the body is made of high-strength steels, including the vehicle floor, the front and rear reinforcement frames, the door bracings and the front bumper seats and the window frames. Result: a significantly improved crash performance.

As standard from "Cool & Connect" is Ford MyKey - this is an individually programmable second key, through which, for example, the maximum speed, the maximum volume of the audio system and other safety-related characteristics of the car can be specified before young or inexperienced users to the wheel ,

Optically, the new KA + sets special accents. The trapezoidal radiator grille - characteristic of the current Ford range - moved higher and the large headlights extend deeper into the flank. The upper grille in the front apron now has a honeycomb design and chrome trim (not "Active"). Fog lights and daytime running lights are standard equipment in all four equipment variants, they are surrounded by concise elements in C-shape - a stylistic device that repeats itself on the outside of the modified rear apron.

From now on, the new KA + Active will be particularly unique in the look of a leisure-active SUV. He is next to the Fiesta Active, which is expected to roll to the dealers from May, the second member of a new model family of Ford.

The crossover version "Active" features a roof rail, which facilitates the transport of bicycles and other sports equipment. In addition, the standard "crossover body kit" with bumpers front and rear in the special "Active" design, lower part in black with silver insert, side skirts in black with silver insert and wheel well covers in black.

Thanks to the ground clearance, which is 23 millimeters larger, the KA + Active also takes on worse off-road routes. Custom-designed 15-inch alloy wheels are standard and the Havana Brown-Metallic paint finish is exclusive to this trim level.

The more robust character of the KA + Active is also reflected in the interior design. The front and rear seats have a special décor with color accents and matching decorative stitching, which also decorates the leather steering wheel with built-in cruise control controls.
