Since the pandemic began, the arts and entertainment sector in Australia has experienced blow-after-blow and has had to adapt to ongoing restrictions and date changes.
World renowned pianist Kym Purling had been based overseas in the United States and Europe for the past 23 years but decided to return home to Adelaide when COVID hit.
He gave up Broadway performances to make a living doing concerts and teaching students in Adelaide.
“I’ve had to reinvent myself, work out how I can make a living here,” he told Sky News.
“I feel the pain Victorians have been through for example and the musicians that I know there all having to do concerts out of their homes and stuff like that with a virtual tip jar.”
