It is on of the most challenging things in Slalom Sailing. Accelerating your big stuff in choppy conditions to almost 70 km/h. First of all, you need the right equipment. Mast, sail, boom, board and of course the right fin. Harness lines must be exactly on the right position. It's mostly all about your setup (trim). Then you need a nice gust for your slingshot downwind. Just push as hard as you can on the back foot and keep the board in a stable position with your front foot. If everything works well, your stuff is flying over the chopp like it was completely flat. Try to follow the waves a bit. The angle to cross the waves shouldn't be to big. Try to hold on to this position for at least 15 sec. (if you go for 5x10cec.) 40 sec. (if you go for 500m) or just go for the speed max and look out for some nice waves on your slingshot. That day @Ammersee I used a JP 85 Slalom 2019 | Neil Pryde EVO XI 8.6 | 44 NoLo Lorch and reached 35.16 kn on 500m and a topspeed of 37.47 kn - 69.5 km/h. Wind was 12-24 kn.
