Olivier de Bohan, President of the farmers cooperative Cristal Union, explains how investment by regional farmers in bio-based research and processing capabilities supports agricultural production and creates new income opportunities. Through Cristal Union, farmers have built up a commercially successful bio-based infrastructure, which sets an example to other farmers and demonstrates how the bio-based economy can develop bringing added value to those living and working in rural environment.
