WHY? The question so many families have. Why can't he/she stop? Why did they start in the first place? Why don't they want to get better?
I wish addicts could just stop using drugs, there would be barely any overdoses.
Drug use is a sickness, a disease. When an addict uses drugs every day for long periods of time it becomes part of their brain chemistry, part of their daily routine. When they don't have the drug their body and brain tell them they can't survive and function without them.
So many people suffering from addiction want to get better but they don't know how to live and function without this chemical they have been using to cope with life.
Hopefully, this video will help clear up some questions for friends and family of addicts.
