Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy says “dehumanising attacks” make it “easier for extremism to spread”.
Former US president Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Despite sustaining an injury to his ear from a flying bullet, the former president is still expected to attend the Republican National Convention on Tuesday.
“Dehumanising attacks make it easier for extremism to spread, and that corrodes democracy," Mr Conroy told Sky News Australia.
