Prone Positioning has been a very hot topic since the pandemic and a very important topic that could save lives. It is used to treat chronic respiratory conditions and been proved to improve oxygenation. This video aims to help give a better understanding about prone positioning through explaining its history, how it has been used in previous conditions, highlight its application to the COVID-19 pandemic, how can we prone and the process as well as some challenges we might face if not prone positioned correctly and safely. An interview has been included as well from a patient who has gone through the process of prone positioning.
This video was made by McMaster students Nora Fatayerji, Gary Grewal, and Holly Crandon in collaboration with the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Program.
