The handspring is one of the first pole moves that maintains only two points of contact and requires not only strength but balance and a dose of fearlessness. So how do we get there to achieve pole-god-like status? This tutorial is for ALL levels of polers!! I'm going to walk you thru my top handspring prep exercises to help you strengthen and take strides towards safely and efficiently building towards your first handspring. These exercises, though broken down for those working towards their first handspring, are also VERY applicable for all of you that have a solid handspring. Shoulders are one of the top injuries in pole and these exercises will help you strengthen and stabilize your shoulders for handsprings and more so that we can all continue to do amazing things that defy gravity!
