This blocked ear wax removal extraction procedure is performed by UK pioneer and world-leading endoscopic ear wax removal specialist Mr Neel Raithatha (Consultant Audiologist) aka 'The Wax Whisperer’ at his clinic in Oadby, Leicester, UK.

Ear wax removal is necessary when ear wax build up becomes impacted. Symptoms causes by earwax blockage include: earache (otalgia), conductive hearing loss, blocked ear, vertigo, tinnitus, itchiness and irritation, occlusion etc.

The client attended several years ago for an ear wax removal appointment. His ear canal entrance, in particular, is quite narrow. He complained of reduced hearing and aural fullness.

The ear wax was slightly sticky and adhered to the base of the ear canal wall. After loosening it, I managed to obtained a suction grip in the middle of the large piece of ear wax. To my surprise, the ear wax lump came out in one whole piece. This was a solid piece almost spanning the entire ear canal length, with no skin adhesions increasing it’s length. To put it into perspective, the solid piece of ear wax measured 2.5 cm. The average ear canal length according to Wikipedia is also 2.5 cm, although this can range up to around 3 cm.

The client was in amazement himself and cited “Oh My Goodness”. He looks forward to becoming viral on YouTube and Facebook!

Finally, during some of the ‘black-out’ segments, there is communication between myself and the client. I had decided not to edit this out as it provides an insight into what and why I’m doing what I am doing, and also on how the client is feeling during the procedure. This is extremely useful for anybody researching ear wax removal prior to attending their appointment, as they will know exactly what to expect.
