Jabari Smith Jr. is one of the most polarizing rookies of the 2022 NBA Draft. The Houston Rockets selected him with the 3rd overall pick after Jabari Smith was speculated to have been the target for the Orlando magic with the #1 overall pick.

Jabari Smith Jr. was more often than not just stuck in the corner while most of the young guards on the Rockets took turns trying to score, but I truly believe that there is a lot more to Jabari Smith Jr's game than that. Now that the Houston Rockets have parted ways with Stephen Silas in favor of bringing in former Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, I have a feeling Jabari Smith Jr. will be in a much better position to succeed next year.

I looked at how Ime Udoka used Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown during the 2021-22 NBA season, and how those same schemes can help extract a lot from Jabari this year. The way Summer League went for Jabari Smith is a glimpse into the future too.

The mismanagement of Jabari Smith Jr highlights how it's one thing to draft a player, it's another thing entirely to know how to use them right.
