Despite it being dismantling by neighboring countries, the legacy of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth continued long after it ceased to appear on any world maps. From the Kościuszko Uprising of 1794 to Countess Emilia Platter’s leading role in the November Uprising (1830-1831), the January Uprising (1863-1864), Józef Piłsudski's Intermarium, and even today, traces of the Commonwealth can still be found in the countries that now make up Eastern Europe.
